Analytics Jena

Location Konrad-Zuse-Straße 1 in Jena
A new campus is being built for Analytik Jena GmbH & Co. KG, including offices for product development and management, equipment manufacturing, laboratories, warehousing and shipping.

The building is to have a first floor and four upper floors (including a technical center). A basement is not planned, but several elevator shafts and transformer stations are.

The project is aiming for DGNB "Sustainable Building Site" certification from the German Sustainable Building Council.

Certified by the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB)

Ed. Züblin AG is pursuing several goals with this project: A sustainable construction site organization, the conservation of resources as well as the minimization of emissions, responsibility for the health and well-being of the builders, the cultivation of good neighbourliness and, of course, high-quality construction. For this, Ed. Züblin AG was the first company to be recognized by the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB).

Selected measures in the project

  • Finished parts

The increased use of prefabricated parts such as Pi slabs, columns, beams and stairs can significantly reduce the construction time. In addition, the volume of waste is considerably reduced thanks to the precise prefabricated ordering of components. This helps to conserve resources and reduce the environmental impact.

  • Digital concrete call-off

In order to optimally coordinate concrete work, the call-off is carried out via a digital application. The delivery rates and capacities of the concrete pumps are coordinated, particularly for large-scale concreting projects, which minimizes waiting times for the truck mixers. This leads to an optimization of production times, a reduction in noise and exhaust emissions and a more efficient construction process.

  • Saving resources and reducing emissions through LEAN Construction

As part of the lean approach, a detailed production plan with call-off dates was drawn up. The construction schedule is adjusted weekly to reflect the actual construction progress. Changes in the construction process are constantly taken into account and just-in-time deliveries enable efficient use of resources, avoiding unnecessary storage and transportation.

  • Measures to prevent pollution from the construction site

As the project is located in an urban commercial area, residents and affected businesses are informed about planned construction work on a weekly basis. This allows them to prepare for possible restrictions in good time, which reduces the impact on operational processes and daily life.

  • Energy management in construction

Measures for the most energy-efficient project execution possible are developed by means of operational construction studies and comparisons. The necessary lifting equipment and cranes (tower cranes, crawler cranes, mobile cranes) are not kept available for the entire construction period, but are used in stages depending on the outreach and trailer load.
