Neue Mitte Bickenbach
Location Darmstädter Straße 6-12 in Bickenbach
The "Neue Mitte Bickenbach" project consists of six apartment buildings and three commercial spaces with a shared underground parking garage for a total of 171 cars .
The 74 residential units are divided into a four-storey building block, parallel to the main road, and five three-storey point blocks at the rear of the site.
The excavation pit is enclosed by a Berlin shoring and in areas of the boundary development with high-pressure injection (HDI). The building shell is largely constructed using prefabricated or semi-prefabricated elements. The façade will have a composite thermal insulation system with partial clinker brick slips. The non-load-bearing interior walls will be constructed as lightweight plasterboard stud walls.
The building will be constructed to KfW Efficiency House Standard 55 in accordance with the BEG.
The project is aiming for DGNB "Sustainable Building Site" certification from the German Sustainable Building Council.

Certified by the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB)
Ed. Züblin AG is pursuing several goals with this project: A sustainable construction site organisation, the conservation of resources as well as the minimisation of emissions, responsibility for the health and well-being of the builders, the cultivation of good neighbourliness and, of course, high-quality construction. For this, Ed. Züblin AG was the first company to be recognised by the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB).

Selected measures in the project
-
Semi-finished and fully finished parts
The complete switch to cavity walls in the basement, filigree ceilings in the rising components and prefabricated balconies as well as prefabricated staircases will reduce construction time and emissions for residents.
-
Digital concrete call-off
Digital applications are used for the best possible coordination when carrying out large-scale concreting operations. These allow ideal coordination between the pump delivery rate and the concrete mixers. Noise emissions are reduced to a minimum as a result of shorter waiting times.
-
Energy management in construction
Construction site investigations and comparative considerations for the most energy-efficient project execution possible. For example, selection of a large concrete bucket to reduce the number of lifts, use of energy-efficient LED lighting.
-
Vibration measurements during construction
Vibration measurements on reference beams during excavation work to reduce vibrations to neighboring buildings.
