Ronzelenstrasse 51 site in Bremen
The largest school sports hall in the Hanseatic city is being built in Ronzelenstrasse in Bremen-Horn with 6,437 m² gross floor area.
The client is the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen, represented by the Municipality of Bremen Real Estate Bremen.
The new multifunctional hall for school sports is being built directly next to the secondary school, which has been in existence for more than fifty years. In the planned educational campus, top young athletes will be trained here on two levels - in three halls each - in future, paving the way for the Ronzelenstraße secondary school to become an "elite school of sport". In addition to the national handball league, the sports halls will also be made available to clubs and associations for competitive sports. For Bundesliga use, the sports hall will have a prestigious entrance and extensive grandstand facilities. In order to meet the requirements of an elite sports school, the room program will be supplemented by sports theory rooms and a fitness facility.
The project is aiming for DGNB "Sustainable Building Site" certification from the German Sustainable Building Council.

Certified by the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB)
Ed. Züblin AG is pursuing several goals with this project: A sustainable construction site organisation, the conservation of resources as well as the minimisation of emissions, responsibility for the health and well-being of the builders, the cultivation of good neighbourliness and, of course, high-quality construction. For this, Ed. Züblin AG was the first company to be recognised by the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB).

Selected measures in the project
-
Use of (semi-) finished parts
The entire two-storey hall is assembled from precast concrete elements. This includes the columns, ceiling trusses (approx. 33m long), semi-precast ceiling elements as well as FT beams and wall panels. This saves construction time and reduces emissions for local residents.
-
Saving resources and reducing emissions through LEAN Construction
As part of the lean approach, a production plan with call-off dates (e.g. insulation) was created. Construction production planning is detailed on a weekly basis and adapted to actual production progress. Changes in the construction process are constantly taken into account and just-in-time deliveries can be better implemented. Repeat orders and new orders due to late changes to the plan are avoided.
-
Measures to prevent pollution from the construction site
The project is located in the city center, so the impact of the construction site will be avoided or reduced as much as possible.
-
Energy management in construction
Construction site investigations and comparative considerations for the most energy-efficient project execution possible. For example, selection of a large concrete bucket to reduce the number of lifts.
-
Execution planning with digital twin (BIM)
Implementation planning is carried out using the BIM method and thus contributes to the optimization process of planning. This minimizes planning errors and identifies problems at an early stage. This leads to less downtime and therefore to resource savings.
