New interim building at the main station
Sub-project of the new construction of Munich Central Station
As part of the renovation and new construction work on the entire Munich Central Station site, Ed. Züblin AG Direktion Bayern is constructing the interim station building at Munich Central Station. This building will serve as a temporary solution for InfraGO AG to maintain ongoing operations during the extensive construction work at the main station and at the same time provide space for various users and DB departments.
The building will be erected in a confined space between the entrance to the U4/U5 construction site and the "Sofitel" hotel along Bayerstraße and will partly cover a bunker and a sprinkler tank.
Circular economy promoted by dismantling
After its use as an interim station building, the structure is to be dismantled. This circumstance is already taken into account in the planning phase by striving for the sustainable recycling of the building in terms of the materials and resources used according to the best possible sustainability principle.
