Central Business Tower Frankfurt
The Central Business Tower is a pioneering high-rise building in the heart of Frankfurt that combines modern architecture, sustainable technologies and historical substance. The 205 meter high building sets new standards in urban construction - in terms of technology, design and culture.
In a joint venture with Dobler Metallbau GmbH, ZÜBLIN is building a striking, 205 m high office tower for Helaba (Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen). The ZÜBLIN Turnkey Construction 2 division of the Stuttgart office is in charge of the consortium. In addition, teams from the Stuttgart Structural Engineering Division, the Central Directorate (turnkey construction) from Frankfurt, ZÜBLIN Spezialtiefbau GmbH and the Central Technology Division are contributing the full range of ZÜBLIN services in building construction and civil engineering to the project.
A tower in the heart of Frankfurt
In the middle of Frankfurt's banking district, at the intersection of Neue Mainzer Strasse and Junghofstrasse, the Central Business Tower (CBT) will be built by early 2028. The high-rise building, consisting of 52 upper floors and five basement floors, will be built from the historic bank building from 1889-91, whose listed façade will be secured and preserved with a solid steel construction. A historic old counter hall (rotunda) is located in the center of the floor plan of the listed building. This will be secured "brick by brick" during the demolition work, temporarily stored and later reintegrated into the new building in new splendor.
Technical masterpiece underground
The construction of the approx. 26 m deep excavation pit using the capping method poses a particular challenge. The foundation piles have a drilling depth of up to 55 m. Added to this is the handling of the historic, listed building fabric. ARGE partner Dobler is responsible for the construction of the façade, metalwork and windows.
Sustainability as a guiding principle
Sustainability is a key aspect of the new building. The project is aiming for certification with the US certification standard LEED/ Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design in the platinum quality level. Planned measures include a photovoltaic system integrated into the exterior façade, which supplies the electric charging stations in the underground car park with CO2-neutral electricity and enables sophisticated, resource-saving control of the building during operation. These and many other measures show that great importance is attached to particularly sustainable and technically smart concepts in the project.
In future, the CBT will house modern office workspaces as well as areas for public life, such as a restaurant on the first floor and a branch of the Museum of World Cultures on the fourth floor.

ZÜBLIN Umwelttechnik: Construction water purification in the façade of the Central Business Tower
ZÜBLIN Umwelttechnik is supplying the construction water purification system in a façade protection system for a construction site in the middle of Frankfurt's banking district. On the construction site of the future Central Business Tower, which will be over 200 m high, every square meter must be used sensibly. A system design was created especially for these confined spaces, which is integrated into the façade protection of the listed façade. Up to 50 l/s can be cleaned from the approx. 26 m deep excavation pit with the system technology used.
