Innovation Center
A fourth office building was constructed on the ZÜBLIN campus in Stuttgart using resource-saving building materials, energy-efficient technologies and digital construction processes.
Together, STRABAG Real Estate, ZÜBLIN's Stuttgart head office and the Central Technology Department have realized the new six-storey Innovation Center with a special focus on sustainability - from planning and construction to operation.
From the floor slab to the roof, the building shell was constructed usingCO2-reduced concrete and aluminum with a recycled content of around 70 percent was also used for the windows and the mullion and transom construction. The roof and façade were insulated with rock wool, which is almost 100 percent recyclable thanks to its mineral raw materials. A water-led 4-pipe heat pump and a highly efficient photovoltaic system on the roof of the office building, which, in combination with a battery buffer storage system, enables a partially self-sufficient regenerative power supply, are used for the sustainable energy supply of the new building. Cradle-to-cradle certified carpet tiles were laid throughout the building, which are made entirely from recycled material and are fully recyclable. The building was awarded DGNB Gold certification.
The building was designed by MHM architects from Vienna and offers many amenities: Bright offices, high equipment standards, many meeting rooms as well as a green inner courtyard and a partially greened façade.
