Old Opera - Frankfurt

Construction logistics between monument protection and ongoing operations.

The Alte Oper is one of Frankfurt's most famous landmarks. opened in 1880 as an opera house, almost completely destroyed in the Second World War and rebuilt in the 1980s as a concert and congress hall, it is now a central cultural venue with over 300 events every year.

As part of a comprehensive fire protection refurbishment and technical rearrangements, we at ZÜBLIN Baulogistik are supporting the construction work in a highly sensitive environment. The particular challenge: the construction work is taking place both during ongoing theater operations and within tight construction windows such as the theater vacations. At the same time, the central downtown location requires precise processes and space-saving construction site organization.

Our scope of services in the field of construction logistics

  • Construction site safety and protective measures for the historic building fabric
  • Installation and management of container facilities
  • Disposal management and waste logistics
  • Logistics coordination and control of delivery traffic in a tight inner-city location
  • Temporary protective structures against damage to listed areas

The building comprises a total of 11 levels, including the large hall with around 2,500 seats and other event rooms. With our construction logistics, we ensure that the modernization and fire protection upgrades can be implemented smoothly - without compromising the Alte Oper's function as the cultural heart of Frankfurt.
