Campbell Barracks BF4 - New construction of a residential complex

In February 2022, Ed. Züblin AG, Karlsruhe Directorate, Mannheim Division, was awarded the contract to build the new "Campbell Barracks BF4" residential complex in Heidelberg. This project was already the third contract that ZÜBLIN was allowed to realize on the former barracks site for BPD Immobilienentwicklung GmbH. Following the successful completion of construction site 3 North and the start of construction work on construction site 3 South, Campbell Barracks BF4 once again stands for expertise and experience.

The residential complex comprises three apartment buildings built on a shared underground car park. A total of 40 high-quality apartments and three commercial units were built. The gross floor area of around 7,700 m² is spread over five floors above ground. The building was constructed using solid construction methods and included all complete services for the building construction right through to completion. The construction work took 19 months, with the contract value amounting to 10.6 million euros. The project was completed on a turnkey basis and once again demonstrated how the well-coordinated team is building another success on the former barracks site.
A particular challenge in this project was the logistics, as the surrounding construction sites were already built on. All material deliveries and construction processes had to be precisely coordinated to ensure that everything ran smoothly. At the same time, it was important to be able to react flexibly on the confined site.

Thanks to the close coordination between all those involved in the construction and the high level of commitment of the teams, these challenges were successfully overcome. The experience gained from previous projects on the site was a decisive advantage.
