New Arkadien Building, Dornstadt
The Arkadien Dornstadt/Ulm project developed by the Strenger Group combines a total of 205 apartments and houses on an area of around 3.5 hectares. The central element of the quarter is an approx. 3,000 m² lake.
Arkadien Dornstadt/Ulm was realised as a joint project of the subsidiaries Strenger Bauen und Wohnen, Baustolz and Wohnstolz.
The company Ed. Züblin AG was commissioned to construct the shells of an underground car park, seven apartment buildings, a high-rise building and seven semi-detached houses.
Special features included an egg-shaped high-rise building with a cantilevered roof overhang at a height of 27 m, curved balconies in the construction of the apartment buildings and cantilevered storeys with partly rounded corners in the construction of the semi-detached houses.
Both the entire basement and the high-rise building were constructed using in-situ concrete.
The multi-storey residential building was constructed using solid precast concrete walls, semi-precast ceilings and solid precast concrete balconies with curved precast parapets.
