The Brick office building Frankfurt
"The Brick" combines striking industrial architecture with modern open-space office concepts and efficient building technology - a modern office complex for Deutsche Bahn in Frankfurt.
The Brick" is a modern office and administration building for Deutsche Bahn on Europaallee in Frankfurt am Main. The building complex consists of two U-shaped structures that form a perimeter block development with a central inner courtyard. The building sections are connected by a two-storey entrance hall and a shared underground car park.
The building is accessed via the entrance hall, which provides access to conference rooms in the east wing and the company restaurant in the west wing. The six full storeys are designed for flexible office use in a layout grid and were implemented as open-space areas with meeting rooms and "think tanks" in the current tenant fit-out. Cooling/heating hybrid ceilings ensure a pleasant indoor climate, while the building services are housed in the technical center on the roof.
Architecturally, the façade with its combination of clinker brick and rendered surfaces is reminiscent of the industrial architecture of the 1920s and gives the building a striking, timeless character
