A model for urban district development - modern residential quarter combines contemporary architecture with generous green and recreational areas in the center of Wiesbaden.
In the middle of Wiesbaden, between Wittelsbacherstrasse and Salierstrasse, a modern residential quarter with 186 apartments, around 6,200 m² of commercial space and two underground parking garages with a total of 478 parking spaces has been built on the former Deutsche Post site. The project is characterized by barrier-free living, modern facilities and innovative rainwater management.
The heart of the project is the approximately 30-metre-wide "green center", which ensures a high quality of stay. The undeveloped open space divides the quarter into two building areas as independent groups of buildings, each with its own underground car park.
The twelve residential buildings and the office building were built in solid construction with full thermal insulation and extensive green roofs. All units are barrier-free and 46 apartments meet the HBO accessibility requirements. Features include underfloor heating, predominantly floor-to-ceiling windows and private outdoor areas such as balconies, roof terraces or garden areas.
A special structural feature is the underground garage ceiling, which serves as a retention storage area for rainwater retention - an innovative contribution to sustainable construction. The entire area is supplied with district heating.
